Volunteer Requirements

• Share the mission and principles of IPO.
• High level of Spanish, written and spoken.
• Previous experience in international accompaniment, or in social and/or human rights movements in country of origin or abroad is preferred.
• Minimum availability of three (3) months in Colombia.
• High tolerance for stressful situations and hostile environments.
• Ability to live and work together in a team.
• Ability to adapt to multicultural situations.
• Be in good health. International medical insurance and vaccinations against yellow fever are recommended.
• Letters of recommendation from at least two social organizations, grassroots groups, or political movements, with whom you have previously worked.

Above all, we are looking for people who can bring creativity,
imagination and spirit for justice and social change.

The volunteer or supporting organizations should assume the costs of travel to Colombia, your visa, transportation within the country, medical costs, food, and a small contribution to IPO of 100,000 Colombian pesos / approximately 50€ / $75. Your monthly expenses once in Colombia will be about 350,000 Colombian pesos / 150€ / $200.
