Law Corporation Humanidad Vigente warns public opinion and the country’s vigilance and control authorities of the possible humanitarian situation that could arise in the towns of Botalón and Puente Table, municipality of Tame, Arauca.
This alert is given on the basis of trusthworthy reports from the town about the unsuitable presence of army troops of the 5th mobile brigade in the area today may 11, 2006, from 4am and who, it seems, have had combats with the guerrilla.
The troops are outside the town center, staying in the people’s houses. Likewise, two explosions were heard on the road to Puente Tabla.
The civilian population fears that after combats, as has happened frequently, the troops will carry out all types of set ups, arresting innocent people who have nothing to do with the confrontation between the armed groups.
